High Intensity Discharge Bulbs (HID)

Platinum's HID lamps are suited for HID stage & studio lighting and produce bright white light and powerful brightness. What makes HID bulbs different from typical incandescent and fluorescent bulbs is that they produce light through a process of excitation of gas and metal salts which is created by an arc of light between electrodes. HID bulbs are popular in these applications because they are more efficient than incandescent and fluorescent bulbs because much of the light the produced is along the visible spectrum rather infrared (heat) and produce more lumens per watt.
